Listened to an On-The-Media broadcast about crypto-currency and blockchain (https://www.wnycstudios.org/story/on-the-media-good-as-gold/); and then saw the recent Wall Street Journal post on the unreliable energy grid in the USA (https://apple.news/Asjd5GU0eQhWcmS3iC8ymOw) (may be paywalled) and this was the free-association:

The USA is a settler nation; there is always another gold rush. As a society, we behave as if we will never put enough attention on building infrastructure and systems that can enable us to settle down and take care of ourselves, each other, and the world we inhabit.
